“No way it’s worth it.” There were lots of comments like this on my recent reel. In a way I get it. C and I didn’t want to leave Vancouver to move to the Yukon. We didn’t know it would change our lives profoundly and for the better. Remote living has taught us about ourselves, each other, community, and the land we live on in a way we never expected. It’s a gift to live here and at the same time, I strongly believe that this isn’t a place that suits everyone. After all, I think it’s possible to appreciate a place and acknowledge you don’t want to live there. I guess maybe I wish more people would approach places they’re not familiar with with curiosity rather than derision. #yukon #canada
