This is how you make henna the OG way! This recipe was passed down to me from my MIL. She learned this from her mother (Allah yerhameh). Henna is a natural dye made from the powdered leaves of the Lawsonia inermis plant. It’s used for body art and hair dyeing. It’s been used in cultures for thousands of years! Some women regularly use this to beautify themselves. Men use it to dye their heads and beards. When a woman gets married, she typically throws a party before the wedding that’s known as the “henna” where her family and friends attend to apply henna to the future bride. There’s many different designs people use when applying henna to the body but the way I showed you in the video is how they use to do it in the villages of Yemen. Would love to see y’all bring this style back! Shoutout to my wife for hopping on and letting me do henna on her! Henna recipe: 3 cup water 1 tbsp loose black tea 1 tbsp clove 2 garlic cloves sliced in half 1 cup of hibiscus flower 1 tbsp sugar 1 tbsp instant coffee Half a lemon juiced 1.5 cups dry henna powder -In a tea pot, combine all the ingredients except the instant coffee, lemon juice, and henna powder. -Bring to a boil and let it gently simmer on low flame for 10 minutes. -After 10 minutes, turn off heat and add the instant coffee and lemon juice. Allow everything to cool to room temperature. -Strain the tea mixture and slowly incorporate it to the henna powder. You need the henna to have the consistency of wet clay. -Keep some tea mixture reserve on the side. You will use it dip your fingers into before grabbing henna to avoid it sticking to your fingers. -Cover the henna with plastic wrap and let it “marinate” for 1 hour so all the ingredients can activate. -When you’re ready to apply the henna on the skin, make sure the skin is DRY and when your finished applying the henna, wrap the area is plastic wrap and leave it for a minimum of 3 hours. -Carefully remove plastic wrap, and wipe off henna with a dry paper towel, apply Vaseline over the henna and cover again with plastic wrap for 4-6 hours. -Your henna will darker gradually within the next 24 hours! . #tiktok #fypage #fypシ゚viral #viral #trending #uae #dubai #arab #reels #saudiarabia🇸🇦 #foryoupage #fyp #discover #brooklyn #yemen #culture #henna #hennaart #wedding
