During the battle of Uhud, the Prophet ﷺ was severely injured. He retreated from the battlefield up to the base of the Uhud mountain where he sought refuge in a small cave. The Quraysh (people against him) attempted to reach him but his loyal companions defended him, ensuring his safety from the enemy. Where I’m sitting is said to be that same spot. Another thing I didn’t know is that according to Islamic traditions— mountains, stones and rocks, by the will of Allah, have reacted to the touch or presence of prophets. When the Prophet ﷺ sat here, it’s said that he tilted his head back and the mountain softened and formed to his helmet to make him comfortable— leaving a rounded area in the mountain where his head would have rested. SubhanAllah when I put my head back, it was so comfortable just as if it was made for a body to rest. Have you ever heard this story or that rocks can do this?! My favorite fabric is nida cuz its not stretchy at all cuz and it has no bounce and surprisingly stays put the best— also is not see through so I don’t have to bother with an under cap. I seriously bought every gadget over the years but I found this style is the most secure and doesn’t have to be adjusted every 2 minutes.. it really stresses me out when I wear hijab and have to adjust it when I’m out in public cuz I want the least amount of attention as possible (emotional issues lol). I’m also really lazy about trying to match colors to outfits and as a new Muslim I was always stressed about finding a “modest outfit style.” That’s why I most the time just use black hijab and match it to a black abaya. Black always looks clean, matches and is the most functional. The Quba Market place is one of my favorite places to go at night to vibe and eat ✨ There’s lots of food stalls for juice, coffee, dinner, snacks and dessert. And the view of Quba is so beautiful at night!!! 📍if you exit the women’s section, you will go down to the walking path and make a left. Follow the sidewalk up and you’ll see a dirt lot and all the stalls. The last 30 days have been so fulfilling in so many ways. 🫶🏽 I got to travel Muslim lands, explore Islam in real life, and visit holy lands with my own eyes. I connected more deeply with myself, my purpose, and my Lord. I met so many new people and had so many different experiences. I cried a lot but out of happiness and deep gratitude. I was sick. I got to be a niqabi. I met my favorite scholar. I completed the Quran. And all of this was going on and we managed to raise almost $120,000 to benefit the refugees in Jordan! Just wow! Random abaya purchase from today! ✨ Tbh I ’m trying not to buy anymore abayas unless it’s totally different or unique from other ones I have cuz I only wear abayas when I’m on vacation— I just don’t have a need for them in California. And I’m honestly a really easy going traveler and I really could care less about having an outfit dilemma every day so I brought like 4 abayas with me and keep just wearing the same one every day to make things easy. 😂 has anyone noticed? I’ve always wanted to go on the path between Quba and Nabawi but never knew where it was! You can take one of these carts between the mosques for 10 SAR which is about $2.67, or you can walk it if you have the time. My recommendation would be to go to Quba at night because it’s sooo beautifully lit against the night sky. And there’s a really cute outdoor food and coffee market nearby. The food at the Quba market is way better than the food stalls Nabawi and has more of a local feel. It’s also less stress and chaos. Masjid Quba is the site where the Prophet ‎ﷺ first stopped when he came to Madinah. His camel stopped on the property and he ‎ﷺ helped build madjid Quba with his own hands. Since this is an important location in terms of Islamic history, you can also do an interactive tour to understand and explore the property. Have you done this before? This location is called the Cave of the 7 Sleepers and is located in Amman, Jordan. The Quran doesn’t give us the exact number of sleepers or the location, but most scholars believe there were 7 sleeping youths plus a dog. The Quran mentions that the youths fell asleep for 309 years and were guarded by the dog at the cave’s entrance. When they awoke, they debated how long they’d been asleep. After they passed, it’s said that they buried them in the tombs and the city people debated what to do with the cave. The pagans suggested to wall the cave off, but the believing king decided to build a place of worship over the cave to commemorate their story. The top part still exists as a mosque and you can visit and pray. There is also another location in Turkey near Ephesus that is rumored to be the location of this Quranic story. We don’t know for sure which it is so like surah Al Kahf recommends: Say “my Lord knows best their exact number. Only a few people know as well.” so do not argue about them except with her knowledge nor consult any of those who debate about them. 18:22 And Allah knows best, allahu alim!☝🏽 Either way, it’s so exciting to explore Islamic history and those who came before us. Before anyone is mean to me in the comments— I found this video on my camera roll after visiting the cave in Jordan that is said to potentially be the spot of the sleepers from surah Al Kahf and I was realllyyyy happy and excited!!!! The point of this posting it is to remind you to read, recite and listen to surah al Kahf today since it’s the last Friday of Ramadan! Protect yourself with Allah’s words 🙅🏼‍♀️ the Quran is here for our benefit! 🙇🏼‍♀️ The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: Whoever memorizes the first ten verses of Surah Al-Kahf will be protected from the Dajjal. (Sahih Muslim 809) He ﷺ also said: Whoever recites Surah Al-Kahf on Friday, it will illuminate him with light between the two Fridays. (Sahih al-Jami’ 6470, authenticated by Al-Albani) So there is a lot of protection and benefit in it and Allah knows best! ☝🏽 I was just excited to be at the potential cave of surah al Kahf and my first thought was to try to recite the ayahs from it. Cuz what a special thing to know and love the Quran and to not only be standing in a potential place that’s mentioned in it in which Allah worked His Amazing Miracles upon the sleepers but to also try to recite His verses about it as well! It’s soooo cool when learning islam merges with history and the locations on earth!!! 🤓🤲🏼 I know my tajweed is bad. My Arabic is bad. It’s moments like this that I really just want to sit here and cry. 🥹🥲😭 Because I was there and now I’m not. Because the Prophet ‎ﷺ was such a beautiful human and I didn’t get the chance to stand in his presence while he was here. Because Allah chose Him ‎ﷺ to reveal the thing to me that is the most dear to my heart. It’s a deep sorrow, it’s also a feeling of deep happiness. It’s standing on a spot on the earth in which you never want to move from. It’s realizing that there’s no beach, no resort, no amusement park or location that would engulf you in the total peace and satisfaction— this is the best spot in the dunya. It’s a place where our hearts don’t tire. Time stands still, you want to live every moment to its fullest. You don’t want to step away to eat or leave to rest. 🥹 I never tire of these emotions or reliving my moments from Makkah and Madinah. 🫶🏽 Allah must know the longing in my heart because He is calling me back with a new umrah group after Ramadan.
