But why does it feel like it’s been 84 years? This one goes out to everyone who is living in (or has lived in) their home while renovating — it’s not easy and we feel for you. What we’ve learned is it comes with its own uniquely specific kind of stress, excitement… and more stress. It’s been a difficult time for us, since no one fully understands what it’s like unless they’ve experienced it firsthand and we’re so appreciative to those of you who have offered kind words and support. Your messages of encouragement have meant the world to us. On a more positive note!! We’re finally making headway in the living room after receiving the French doors we ordered last year. The existing doors were rotting, sagging, and close to complete failure since the day we bought our house, so the arrival of the new ones is extremely exciting for us! With the door installation almost completed, we can *finally* move into designing the space. Which, to be honest, this room has been existing as a hodgepodge of random pieces of furniture we’re not necessarily tied to, with unfinished and unpainted walls. It hasn’t reflected our style but it certainly has reflected our pain, anguish, and mess 😅😅 insert more drama here. We’re calling this room “Sunset” — can you guess what color scheme we’re going for? One of our favorite hiking trails in all of Los Angeles — Brush Canyon to the back of the Hollywood Sign. 3 miles to the top, 3 miles back down, and it usually takes us around 2 hours. On a more personal note, whenever we’re feeling too cooped up at the house, stressed, or when we’re at each other’s throats and bickering (yes, we definitely do bicker 😅😅), hiking is something we always return to to decompress and reconnect. It seems so obvious, but we often forget how regenerative it is to get outside for fresh air and a change of scenery. These hikes serve almost as a form of therapy. We’re able to get away from distractions and work through our feelings and talk about whatever is on our minds. And this hike was certainly that ❤️ So here’s our attempt to be more accountable and go on more hikes!
